Look Away If Your Squeamish

Honestly, I’m really bothered by what I’m about to do, at least, with the first pic. I’m embarrassed somewhat that I ever allowed myself to get THAT far out of shape. The result of years of stagnation. However, the reason I’m showing you is the second picture, and what it means.

The second picture is the result of some work (about 45 minutes a day) and eating appropriately and healthily. That really is all it takes to lose 35 pounds in 90 days.

Now, these pictures are really about two weeks later than 90 days, and we’ve started working Power 90 Masters and I’ve lost another four pounds, even with taking a week off (where I pretty much stayed the same that week). So the difference between the pictures is nearly forty pounds. I’m hoping, if you need it, that these pictures can inspire you. It’s amazing what can be done in a short amount of time if you really put the effort into it.

Some Updates

So we started Power 90 Masters series four days ago, and despite the fact that I’m having some knee trouble (wearing a brace during the workouts seems to be helping), I’m enjoying doing something different. I’m now down to 187, which puts the total weight loss at 38.5 pounds, which isn’t too shabby at all. It also means I’ve only got 22 pounds to go to reach my goal target weight.

Also, I’ve been obsessed, really, with an old/new Laughing Dragon Games project. Finally. I think I’ve got a good plan, too, for finally turning LDG into what I wanted it to be originally. You can check out the project blog at http://www.infinitesuns.com/blog.aspx. I’m really excited about it, and it’s hard for me to stop working on it to get other things done, which bodes well for it’s future.

Day 90 – Power 90 Complete!

Actually, today is Day 91, but it’s my birthday, so you’ll have to forgive me for fudging a little. Also, despite the fact that the program says to take pics and weigh on Day 90, it seems odd to me that you would weigh yourself before completing all of Day 90 – I mean, don’t you want to find out what that last day did? I do, so here’s the initial result.

Day 1: 225.4 pounds/33.8% body fat

Day 90: 191.0 pounds/25.8% body fat

That’s 34 1/2 freakin pounds in 90 days! When you take into account that I lost another 4-5 pounds just prior to Day 1 (weighed at the doctor with clothes on, 232), my total weight loss is nearly 40 pounds. We haven’t measured ourselves yet, or taken the pictures. Things are kind of hectic around here with birthdays, t-ball, wife’s physical therapy sessions – it’s hard enough getting time in for the workouts.

So, what’s next? A week of leisurely exercise (some light cardio, mostly) to let the body rest and recover a bit, then we’ll start the Power 90 Masters series.

Day 89 – Power 90

One more day left (well, really two since it’s still early morning) and I am very pleased. I’ve been on antibiotics for the last three days, stemming from that bout of illness I mentioned awhile ago, and despite the illness and the drugs and all, I’ve still managed to hit every workout and even added a couple extra sessions on the bike. I’d tell you my weight now (which I’m pretty dang happy about), except that tomorrow is Day 90 when we’re supposed to weigh in and take pictures, etc…

We’re thinking of weighing on Day 90, and on Day 91 as we weigh in the morning, and we won’t get an accurate reading after the last workout on Day 90, and reporting the better number (which would hopefully be the Day 91 number).

We’ve also concluded that, while Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser may have it over Tony Horton in the fame category, he’s got a big lead over her in the “keeps me pressing play” category. He’s just more fun to work out with. If I had to keep watching Jillian over and over again, it’s all work and staying on task with her, I’d have to switch out videos a lot sooner than it took us to want to switch out Tony.

One Week Left

One week left until Day 90, and I can’t wait to get to it so I can start Power 90 Masters series and get rid of the next 30 pounds. As of this weekend, I hit 31 pounds lost, and I bought a new belt that will hopefully take me through the end of P90M.

In other news, Infinte Suns is seeing some progress again, though in a different form from the original MMO. It will be single player, and for the moment, will be essentially just a game where you fly your ship from station to station, trading or doing simple missions to gain money to buy new ships and weapons. Eventually, probably in IS2, it will have RPG elements like player stats and a skill tree, an optional storyline, more complicated missions, NPC’s that talk to you, etc… The goal, however, for the first iteration of Infinite Suns is just getting the basic game mechanics done and polished.
