The New Year (A Bit Late)

I’ve been absent for quite some time. All sorts of life type things ruined my plans for November and December. I did manage to write every day, but it was at a snail’s pace.

But, 2012 taken as a whole turned out better from a writing standpoint than 2011 by a large margin, and I’m hoping to do the same again for 2013. I have big plans for this year, which include finishing up the A Wizard’s Work series and writing the next Lords of Genova book. This year is all about working on the series that I have in progress. It’s ridiculous for some of you to have to wait upwards of two years for the next book in a series because I can’t stop myself from writing up every new idea that I come up with. So, along with those two series I already mentioned, there will be another novella or two for Grim Repo, and another Zombies Ate My Mom novella, too (that one is already started).

I’ve decided to remove the individual book progress meters from the site in favor of an overall yearly progress meter, but even that might go at some point. The only real measure of how well I am doing is the number of projects I get finished.

So, what will you get this year, for sure (unless I get hit by a bus)? Here’s the list, in expected order:

A Tower Without Doors (Novella)
Fragments (AWW #2)
Minders (working title for a standalone short novel)
Coercer’s Lament (Lords #2)
Grim Repo 2
Reworked (AWW #3)
Zombies Ate My Mom 2

I have plans for other titles beyond these, but I’m not ready to divulge them. I will say, though, that if I don’t get hit by a bus, I think you will be pleased.

New Projects In The Fire

To the right, you can probably see that I’ve added a couple new projects. One is a storyline sequel to Zombies Ate My Mom, and the other is a sort of fairy tale fantasy romance in the same vein as The Sacrifice of Mendleson Moony.

The plan is to finish the first draft of both of these this month, but if you know me, plans are meant to be ignored. I’m concerned that ZAMM 2 will go over my projected word count, and if that happens, it won’t get done. They’ll both get done eventually (this month or next), but getting them both done this month will be a challenge considering I still have to do edits on Fragments this month.

It’s going to be a busy month.

Oh, did I mention, I’m working on StoryBox 2, too?

Dreams of Earth – Now Available

So my latest novelette (the only one I have, so far) will be slowly rolling out this weekend as the various vendors get around to it. But you can get it right here, right now, and not have to wait. If you buy it from me directly, you get each of the major formats (ePub, mobi, and pdf) so that you don’t have to do any conversion if you ever switch devices.

I’ll put up the links to the other vendors as they become available.

Hal hates space. He worked for years in the deep cold blackness to save money so that he could return with his wife to Earth, buy an apartment, and start a family.

But his wife loves living on the Titan Interstellar Launch Facility, and seems to have forgotten the shared dream that brought them there.

When Hal’s boss approaches him with a new contract, his wife implores Hal to take it. Returning to Earth looks like a shattered dream.

But, if there is one thing Hal doesn’t want to do, it is to stay in space one minute longer than necessary. Can he find a way to change her mind?

Bookstore

I’ve been wanting to do this for quite a while, but for various reasons, I never did it. However, over the last couple weeks, I discovered Ecwid, decided to change web hosts, and decided to get rid of some dead weight.

In the bookstore, you’ll find everything I have available—electronic editions and signed paperbacks.

Every electronic edition comes in DRM free ePub, mobi, and PDF formats. You get them all, so if you ever change devices, you’ll still be able to read the books.

Every paperback comes signed. You also get the electronic editions for free with a paperback purchase.

Right now, I’m only shipping paper books to the US. If you are outside of the US, and you really want the paperbacks, email me and I’ll see what we can come up with.

Fragments First Draft Complete

There it is. The first draft of Fragments is complete. One hundred twelve thousand words, and twenty-five percent longer than I expected.

It’s going to need a couple major fixes before I can send it to my alpha readers, but those shouldn’t take too much time.

I’m excited to be done. It was a tough book to write. I’ve never written a sequel before, so a lot of this was new territory for me.

Now, I have to figure out what to write next.

StoryBox – $14.95 thru NaNoWriMo

I don’t usually talk about my software here (anymore), but I had to post this because some of you might think it’s cool.

Between now and the end of NaNoWriMo, my writing software StoryBox is $20 cheaper than normal. Only $14.95!!! If you don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, it’s National Novel Writing Month, where people try to write a novel in 30 days. It starts Nov 1, and ends Nov 30.

Get it here!
